Mission based organizations attract people who are intrinsically excited about the mission. They want an environment filled with co-workers who share a core passion and worldview.

That is a great place to start, but a shared mission alone isn’t enough to achieve extraordinary teamwork.  I want to help you map the most straightforward and effective path to accomplishing your goals based on the team that God has gathered together.

Dear Leader,

As a manager of people, you have a wonderful opportunity to build up your direct reports, to arrange projects in a way that allows everyone to do what they are good at and bring their best to work every day. That isn’t an easy task though!

I truly love helping a team understand each other and learn to optimize their work together. Using the Strengthsfinder and Working Genius assessments as tools gives teams a vocabulary to communicate better about projects. Often a few small changes in workflow can prevent burnout and bring greater satisfaction to your team.

James

Each member of your team is a unique reflection of God’s image. To steward your mission and team well, you should be well acquainted with those talents and energies and passions.  Every person on your team has unique superpowers that can be leveraged for success– or that can get in the way–  if you aren’t learning how you fit together well as a team.

I’ve been a part of successful teams and broken ones. Even in a Christian organization, it's not hard for people to start to resent each other when discouraged by the lack of ability to succeed individually.  When your team members don’t know what their own gifts are and those of their teammates, it’s a recipe for mush. BUT, if you can gain that awareness and consciously appreciate one another’s gifts?  It’s like a gourmet dinner set before you where every flavor complements the others, producing a standout dish that wows the palate.

We will utilize multiple tools to help your team see where their strengths lie and to pursue team health.  Dysfunctional teams tend to have one thing in common: a lack of bedrock trust.  But even once trust is established, you can trip over your own talents by not being aware of how your team fits together as a whole.

With this package we will look at your team’s patterns using 5 Dysfunctions of a Team. We will grow each individual member’s self- and others- awareness with Gallup’s Clifton Strengths and the Table Group’s Six Types of Working Genius.

After everyone has finished the assessments, I’ll spend an hour with the team leader going through an inventory of both treasures and gaps and then we’ll spend a half-day together as an entire team to help each team member understand both his or her own super powers and those of the rest of the team.  We’ll go over the phases of work and identify where each team member is going to thrive, where they will struggle. We’ll talk about how to best support and communicate with each other. My goal is to set you up to work beautifully together for the greatest impact in God’s Kingdom work.
